Primary immunodeficiencies as underlying cause for defective early lymphocyte signaling and activation
Friday 18 February 2011
Primary immunodeficiencies are caused by inherited mutations in genes relevant to immune responses. In collaboration with Dr. M. Van Gijn at the Biomedical Genetics division at the UMCU, we recently generated a new diagnostic tool for the genetic identification of primary immunodeficiency-related gene variants (Nijman IJ et al., JACI 2014). In this project we clarify the functional consequences of the proteins encoded by such gene variants that are found associated with primary immunodeficiencies.
